Gill’s life, like Mary Queen of Scots, has had some misadventures, terrible failed relationships and near-death experiences.
But unlike Mary, Gill won’t lose her head. She’s ready to claim the throne and pronounce herself the Queen of Scottish Comedy.

Host of Access That, a podcast about travelling with a disability. Presented by Tourism and Events Queensland
Having a disability isn’t all parking permits and skipping the queue. Sometimes it’s just trying to get through the day without screaming.
In this brutally honest and brutally funny new show, comedy favourite Oliver Hunter unloads about everything that pisses him off about navigating the world in a wheelchair. He’s sick of reassuring everyone that “It’s all good!” – and he’s ready to vent about it all: raising a toddler he can’t run after, worrying about an airline losing his chair, constantly having to deal with able-bodied people’s silly assumptions about what he can and can’t do – and much more.
If you’ve ever felt like the world isn’t built for you – or you just want to hear someone say all the stuff you’re not allowed to – don’t miss It’s All Good. It’s sure to make you laugh, squirm, think… and then laugh again.
Directed by Tom Ballard.

Between the nights, evenings, weekends More…
Cath Styles has been a psychiatric nurse for 36 years, and a comedian for 20.
Between the nights, evenings, weekends and holidays she’s worked in both jobs, she’s never had a weekend off. Ever!
Shift is the show where both her worlds collide, and explores her on again, off again, (mostly dysfunctional!) relationship with nursing.
The highs, the lows. The shifts! The dark, beautiful, sad and, sometimes, just plain hilarious side of trying to help people hold on to their sanity, while desperately trying to keep a grip on your own!
Flavoured with the black humour of those who work on the front line at stupid o’clock, it’s an insight into a world where strange is normal and normal is strange, and dispels many of the popular myths about working in mental health, such as ‘mental illness only happens to other people’, and ‘all the hot doctors are in the ED’.
A must see for nurses, patients and everyone in-between, Shift is a refreshingly positive look at mental health from someone with the heart of a nurse and the mouth of a comic, with tips on how to love your job – even when it doesn’t love you back!
See it. So she can write it off on tax!

What’s it about?
Inspired by that bonkers film where Bob’s off-grid life goes sideways, our show riffs on what happens after the chaos dies down. Spoiler alert: life’s still ridiculous.
The real deal:
I’m here cracking jokes about speaking English as my second language – honestly, you lot invented the weirdest rules, yeah? I’ll roast daily absurdities nobody talks about, the strange little things we all pretend make sense. My wife thinks I’m mental half the time anyway, so might as well lean into it. Family dynamics, relationships, that awkward moment when your kid calls you out. Fair dinkum observations about how bonkers normal life actually is when you’re paying attention.

Walking on stone and cement, it can be hard to remember what it feels like to have earth beneath our feet. What does it mean to be where we are? What do we, as modern Australians, think it means to be “on Country”?
Of The Land On Which We Meet follows the journey of three contemporary circus artists with distinct relationships to Country: an Indigenous Australian, a descendant of migrants, and a descendant of colonial settlers.
Through Na Djinang Circus’ signature physicality and style, Of The Land on Which We Meet rekindles the deep connections that tie us to place and one another.

BY COHAN AND COLLABORATORS
Step into a vivid, otherworldly environment where surfaces ooze, webs breathe and the human shifts between forms. The Irreducible is a visceral performance exploring ‘trans’formation, symbiosis, and the porous boundary between the body, identity and the world around us.
With striking visuals, unsettling choreography, and a surreal soundscape, this piece invites audiences to witness an eerie cycle of emergence, decay, and renewal—where nothing is static, and even the space itself seems sentient.
Award-winning director-performer Cohan investigates the boundaries between the queer body, the self and object. Their practice brings composition and design elements into the process as essential collaborators, treating the body as an extension of space and soundscape. Founded in 2016, their company Blank Space Productions has built a reputation for bold, transformative theatre driven by a founding principle of transformation.
Now landing in Naarm, this production delivers Blank Space’s provocative and physical work with full force — offering a post-drag bent to movement and theatre that shimmers between unsettling and exhilarating. Come witness what happens when form dissolves, identity shifts and space itself becomes alive.

You’ve got to work it hard to be a Solo man… and with 23 years of stand-up comedy under his belt, Mick knows how to work it with the best of them. Light on the fluff so you can slam down the laughs.
When you’ve got a thirst for some fun… crack a ticket to HARD SOLO.
‘Neven’s stand up is so slick… he’s seriously entertaining.’ The Age
‘Go see his show, it’s good sh*t.’ Herald Sun
‘A rollercoaster Wizard of a ride from Oz.’ The International Times
And now, here is a bit of Mick’s performance bio – Mick Neven has been performing stand-up comedy around Australia and around the world for 23 years. He’s toured Canada and the US, performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe five times and has completed three tours of duty to the Middle East to perform for Australia’s Defence Force members serving overseas.
Mick is a two-time winner of the Perth FRINGE WORLD Weekly Award for Best Comedy Show.
You may have seen him on television over the years, including on the Quiz show Temptation when he won $3500 cash and a $3000 washing machine, and on Millionaire Hot Seat’where he nearly won $250,000 but missed out because he’d never heard of King Canute. Mick also unsuccessfully opened a case on Deal Or No Deal.

“You’re going to love Laurence” used to be the office guarantee. The cheerful promise colleagues gave before introducing him. He was the reliable spark, the one who could brighten a meeting, fix a mood, or smooth over tension with a joke. For years, being the fun one felt like enough.
But now he’s hit 40, and the once-automatic enthusiasm has faded, the tolerance for small talk has evaporated, and the role of office morale booster has become… optional. For the first time, Laurence is questioning whether charm is a sustainable career strategy.
And in that reflection comes the unsettling realisation: he never learned any real, tangible skills beyond buying the milk and sensing when the communal fridge required urgent intervention.
This show follows his reluctant journey out of the personality-hire trap – funny, honest, and painfully relatable to anyone who’s ever woken up and thought, Wait… what exactly is my job? Less

Venture into the dark heart of old Melbourne, where the shadows of the past still linger in every alleyway.
Step back to a time when the sweet scent of Chinatown’s spices masked the bitter smoke drifting from hidden opium dens, and the city’s poorest were sacrificed in the name of “science”—their bodies sold from poorhouses to medical schools under the cover of night.
Visit the very alleyways where Jack the Ripper is rumoured to have hidden from the Metropolitan Police, his dark legacy trailing him across continents and through time.
Hear the haunting tale of famed opera singer Frederick Federici, who gave his final and most chilling performance at the Princess Theatre—vanishing beneath the stage as he plummeted to his death before a stunned audience. Some say he never left.

Alan McElroy is back with the third and most explosive chapter of his accidental trilogy of mayhem. After the manic energy of Mad, Innit?! and the Catholic-trauma confessions of Ah, Jaysus, Alan now turns the spotlight onto the one constant in his life: he is the problem. In I Am Chaos, he dives into the ridiculous disasters he creates simply by existing – the misunderstandings, the good intentions that backfire spectacularly and the moments where friends, family and total strangers wonder how one man can cause so much trouble without ever meaning to.
From burning situations (literal or otherwise) to social calamities and everyday catastrophes, Alan unpacks the comedy of being the human equivalent of a loose shopping trolley on a hill.
Hilarious, self-aware and wildly relatable, I Am Chaos is Alan at his most unfiltered.

Critically-acclaimed comedian André De Freitas returns with his second hour of stand-up. In this new show, André dives into that strange stage of adulthood where your parents stop being parents and start becoming actual humans – messy, emotional, complicated humans. He talks about uprooting his life to find a new life in America, discovering what race you apparently are in a different country and trying to figure out where you fit in and stumbling through love. Along the way, he wrestles with the uncomfortable questions that come with growing up but most of us are too embarrassed to say out loud – are we genuinely good people, or just performing goodness for everyone around us? It’s a funny, sharp and surprisingly heartfelt coming-of-age hour about identity, belonging and figuring out who we really are when nobody’s watching.

This story starts on Friday 13 December 2024 at 5:37pm. Rowan knows this precisely, because that’s what the police report says.
While playing catch with his wife in a local park, comedian Rowan Thambar witnesses a moderate crime. This show documents everything that led up to that fateful incident and the events that transpired afterwards.
Rowan is one of Australia’s most exciting voices on the comedy scene. He’s written for Channel 10’s The Project (Rest in Peace), been nominated for Best Comedy at Melbourne Fringe, toured nationally with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow and chances are you’ve heard him on triple j, NOVA or ABC National Radio.
This year he returns to Melbourne International Comedy Festival for the first time in years, with a show all about a local true crime, doing the right thing in a divided world and 2000’s hitmaker Fatman Scoop.
Come spend an hour with this “excellent” storyteller (The Age) as he explores culture, faith and the psychological profile of cretins who don’t reply to text messages.
